Power Supply. Included Accessory. If you have visited our site recently I am sure you have seen the scout ads on every page. The packaging has the same design but much larger on one side. The design manages to show off a good portion of the Scouts features including the front panel and handle up top.
The back of the packaging has a menacing guy on the back along with a list of case features. On the bottom of the back you will find a few recommendations from professional gaming teams along with pictures to go along with the afor mentioned feature list. A portable Mid-Tower rig wouldn't be portable without the convenient carrying handle up top.
The all mesh front bezel will help with the airflow when you start packing high-end components into this in comparison to the sniper small case. On the right side the side panel has a small bulge in it similar to the HAF and Sniper that I have found makes wiring much easier.
The left side panel is home to a tinted side window that looks amazing are you listening Antec? The back of the case is fully blacked out including every screw and thumbscrew; this is the kind of detail that makes a good case great. The large CPU access hole was also great to see along with a cable management hole placed just in front of the bottom mounted power supply. The 3. Cooling for the Scout can be found in the way of mm fans on both the front and top and one mm fan on the rear.
Both the front and rear fans have red LED lighting, and if the three fans are not enough you have the option to add two mm fan's to the Acrylic window on the side panel. Another notable feature of the Scout is what they call the "StormGuard" security system, basically a PCI slot panel that is cut in a way that you can secure your gaming peripherals at large lan partys, why didn't anyone else think of this?

I have a Haf already for another computer so I wasn't surprised by how well the case was put together and finished. Unfortunately, as DarkSaber predicted the lack of headroom above the mobo proved a problem. Guess I trundle down to Fry's tomorrow and exchange it for another case. What a shame because this is a beautiful case. Izliecies New Member. Joined Aug 11, Messages 0.
I have a question - does the bottom fan of side panel window fit when the PSU is installed? I didn't add fans to the side panel but didn't see any reason I couldn't. It was designed with this in mind and the PSU should fit nicely under the fans. Joined Oct 15, Messages 0. Louis, MO System Specs. Izliecies said:. You must log in or register to reply here. I reinstalled the original Nvidia driver and it fixed the problem. I later used NVCleanInstall again and it gave me problems untill I selected "Full install" and then later just unchecked the "Telemetry and Advertising" option, which is now working perfectly.
Today we take a look at the second release by this upstart, the Scout. With its rugged good looks and reinforced carrying handle, there is no mistaking the mission planned.
Developed with elite engineering skills, and reinforced by the highest grade materials, your Storm gear will perform and deliver with unfailing reliability, letting you focus on your game and worry less about your hardware. Once the chassis out of the box and stripped of the protective plastic layers, we get our first look.
In the front, CM Storm has chosen to use extensive grilling and have also placed foam filtering material behind it all. The front panel is easily removed with a simple pull, so cleaning it will also be a snap. Moving to the side exposes the tinted windowed cover panel. I really like the effect of using a custom molded design instead of the cookie cutter square. The plastic is heavy and the panel feels solid. Flipping this panel to expose the backside gives you a better view of the optional dual mm fan mounting capabilities.
This is an excellent feature that is sure to please those who require maximum air flow. There are no fans included in the package. Looking at the rear exposes the business end of the Scout.
There is a single mm exhaust fan included here.
