I would like to find out what kind of windows messenger I have. I have the newest version on windows live messenger. It wont let me do the hand writing thing. The windows messenger that is already on it says its not compatible with this version. I have tryed installing windows live and it says it wont work with this computer.
How can I make msn work on it or what version should i try? If I download the new version of messenger 8,will I lose all my contacts? Thank you. Same problem as Amber cant use my web cam , and I uninstalled msn Or windows instant mess too.

Apple is looking more and more desirable by the minute! I got the same problem, but it's not the Live Messenger problem, I use my notebook on My Job and at home.
At home Messenger works perfectly, but when I connect in my job network the messenger keeps disconnecting all the time, about one minute each disconnection. I searched a lot to know whats the problem, a found a few articles about windows 7 and vista issues with connection MTU settings, is not just MSN that disconect, but if you monitor you pc network, you'll see skype with the same problem, but skype don't open the default window when loses connection, SKype just recconect in background.
But Live Messenger is more scandalous and show a lot of evidence about connection lost. I can say that problem isn't on Messenger because more coworkers uses different versions of Messenger, and they have the same problem, but previous versions don't show a lot of evidence like WLM I adjusted MTU setting on my router and solved the problem for a few days, but now it's happening again, now it disconnects less than before.
Or maybe a router problem, I'll change the router if I can't solve that. If you want to try that, please see following links.
